​​​Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot - Visual Line of Sight)

This qualification (AVI30419) provides students with the qualifications, skills and licences to allow them to fly drones and manage drone operations, with licencing opportunities with CASA. The course is an excellent entry point into the aviation industry, as students will be learning the same subjects that pilots of manned aircraft in airlines and the military learn. 

Pathway outcomes

The Certificate III in Aviation qualification can lead to employment within a company or government department as a drone pilot or drone specialist introducing and operating new technologies. Career pathways include:

  • public safety and emergency services 
  • aerial surveying 
  • mining and resource sectors
  • Government agencies
  • specialist civil and military surveillance.

Completion requirements

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 9 core units and 5 elective units of competency.
