Accelerated Senior for Trade-Based Career Pathway
Students commencing Year 11 in 2027 may apply to participate in this accelerated senior program focussed on developing a trade-based pathway, aligned with the student’s interests and strengths.
The Trade Pathways Program will be delivered in partnership with Brisbane North West Trade Training Centre and Mitchelton State High School. Students will attend the BNW Trade Training Centre full-time, with specialist classes delivered in our training rooms.
This is a 38-week program (one school year). Students who have completed VET qualifications in Year 10 will have banked QCE credits that enable them to accelerate their pathway into an apprenticeship.
Students are encouraged to be proactive in seeking a school-based traineeship or apprenticeship that will form part of this program. Support to find an apprenticeship is provided by our Industry Liaison Officer, the pathways officers from our partner RTOs, as well as our apprenticeship support networks and contacts.
During the pilot phase, a maximum of 15 students will be accepted into the Trade Pathways Program.
