This dual qualification (11054NAT, CPC20220) covers the skills and knowledge within the fields of plumbing and construction, and provide students with exposure to the industry.
This course provides a foundation and introductory knowledge in the plumbing sector of the construction industry.
Amongst other skills, the course is intended to provide participants with the following general outcomes:
vocational exposure to the plumbing industry
work health and safety in the construction industry with a focus on plumbing, working at heights and work conducted on roofs
expectations of effective work practices in the plumbing service sector
basic first aid skills
some technical fabrication and joinery skills relating to plumbing
knowledge of how to handle and store plumbing materials
levelling skills and knowledge
basic restricted height scaffolding techniques and related safety
the safe use of plumbing hand and power tools
awareness of working safely when asbestos may be present.

Completion requirements
To be awarded this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 12 units of competency, consisting of:
- 16 core units, plus
- 2 elective units.
